Kalle Katz is a pianist/composer living in Loviisa. After touring the Nordic countries while studying, he returned to his home ground and made himself a living by playing, composing and teaching. Katz’s own field is jazz and improvisation but all sorts of musical aesthetics fascinate. Performing is next to a drug for Kalle, albeit quite a harmless one.

Improvisation is the basis to all Kalle’s artistic creation. Creating something out of nothing and the feeling of danger makes improvisation comparable to any extreme sport. At the same time, however, it is very safe and wonderfully instructive.
